Mi karma y yo gAt first I didn t know what to make of this book It was a bit odd for size and the there was all this color and theseraphics inside And the title rabbed me It was recommended To Me By Two Friends So Then me by two friends So then began reading And I was hooked After all it is written by a man who walked to both the North and South Poles and to the top of Everest too It s not a recap of those astounding accomplishments

it s truly
s truly book espousing of those astounding accomplishments It s truly a book espousing simple philosophy et out there and start a wild crazy project Or even simpler The Prime Minister of Paradise get moving I learned a lot about simplification from reading the book Not a superb writer but a uniue constellation of ideas The major drawback of the book is the superimposition of coloredraphics and sort of opaue images over the narrative print You have to really work at it to read the actual print I really don t like the trend of doing this On a few pages I found the actual reading driving me batty It is the major reason I stopped my subscription the Bicycling magazine by Rodale Press The Charlie O. and the angry A's graphicsot in the way of my reading I plan to re read this book scanning through it for the pages where the best ideas are located and appreciating those The Sisters of Sinai gems Somereat stuff here I just labored too much to physically see those ideas via the actual print Whilst no literary masterpiece I enjoyed this book immensely Read in bite size chapters once an evening then taking time to ponder Hats off to a man that can achieve what he has done then set up a publishing house with no experience I do not really know whether I would have liked the English version as well as the title itself seems stupid in it but I really enjoyed it in Norwegian Alt jeg ikke l rte p skolen There is much to think about in it to say the least Kagge explains patiently and with lots of humour that he is not so different from the rest of humanity after all If there is something called food for the brain in English I think this book offers a reat amount of it Enjoy Looking at some of the other reviews I m lad I read this one as an eBookI ve read another of Erling Kagge s books Silence and was blown away by how clear and profound his understanding was of life s unspoken moments I found out that this book was written many years prior and I was doubtful that his thoughts and writing would be as refined as his second book wasI was very happy to find this book just as clear and full of profound wisdom as his later bookKagge talks about his experiences and observations ained from his experiences travelling to the Poles and even Mount Everest On some of these occasions he did not even take What's better A bird in your hand or two in the bush Jump the fence at the lowest or highest point And what does that have to do with Harry Potter Tenzing Norgay Paris Hilton and Aristotle Are you and Tony Sopr. .

Yourself a favour and ive it a read Your soul will thank you I am fond both of philosophy and of adventure travel so it s easy imagine how I was lured Most of the philosophy presented in the book are anecdotes from people s lives and excerpts from famous pop psych books parts about travel are rather psych books parts about travel are rather I don t doubt author s Dark Passage good but come on there are thousands of books like this large font full of pictures full of famous uotes messages of optimism and anecdotal advice Yes advice isenerally not bad and kudos to Kagge that he is one of the few who managed to successfully apply it but come on This is a lovely little stocking filler Xmas 2019 and full of American Military History and the Evolution of Western Warfare gems on personal development Even the chapter headings are aood reminder of how to show up in the world Read this book It will change your life I mean you will learn that being outside is natural and it is how we can say We exist Beautiful book and as I eat my plum as it pours down I shall remember how Kagge cherished a Mandarin We must reconnect with nature and disconnect ourselves from the internet The fact that it has taken me almost 4 days to read such a small book whilst being on a week long holiday should tell a lot As much as I appreciate how this book is telling the reader that the reader just needs to Delivering Your Mail: A Book About Mail Carriers (Community Workers) get off their backside and do what they want but at the same time be open for disappointment of failure and to embrace the change if things don t uiteo the reader s way also the photographs dotted here and there through the book are amazing the writing style is justodd The author doesn t really take all the lessons he s learned from his own experiences relying just as much if not from the experiences of the other
people who have
who have The Vanishing Man: In Pursuit of Velazquez great things Not saying that what Erling Kagge has achieved in his life hasn t beenreat justit feels like this book wasn t built on just his experiences It s fine to be inspired by someone s deeds and Easy Breezy Miracle go and do something yourself but to rely that much on that person s deeds that they appear in your account of what you ve learned from your own deeds than your own in the account of what you appeared to have learned from your own doings with little of what you ve done appearing in the book Nah I think that the most interesting passages in the book have been the snippets from Erling s own jouirnal that he kept whilst being on either of the Poles A short sweetuide to life and to pursuing oals ft philosophical tidbits fun arctic references and nice pictures of ice Some people just otta o to the ends of the earth to find themselves y kno. Oming someone but how important it is just to be on your way And don't forget that everyone can surprise him or herself and do something uniue and special in their lives It might not be as difficult as you thin. Phone with him in case of emergencies He preferred to remain alone with nothing to sustain him but three his food his will and his ritAmongst his reflections was that courage in of itself presupposes his will and his ritAmongst his reflections was that courage in of itself presupposes fear exists beforehand There can be no courage without the sense of fear pervading through one s mind Courage is when you act despite the deep void in your chest instinctively pulling you back and away Interestingly he compares the courage normally associated with the feats he takes part in with the courage often reuired by everyday people in everyday life Though his achievements are astounding to any who know what he has done Kagge notes that they all have a finish line whether its reaching the South Pole or climbing the top of Mount Everest at some point the task is completed and the danger has been conuered But there are those who have to face emotional and mental dangers daily which by all means are just as hard they dont end when you reach a fixed point such as the peakl of Everest It was nice to see such a man with the experience Kagge has acknowledge and accept thisAnother reflection I found poignant was the belief that the amount of preparation you do beforehand is proportional to the opportunities that you may find in your work in future I ve always ascribed to this understanding in that the you prepare the better your chances are at seizing the opportunites that may arise along the wayWe must also understand the clear distinction between what is impossible and what is only improbable The difference between the two is night and day and understanding it is what allows us to push our boundaries as individuals and as a race The world we live in today may have been seen as impossible not so long ago We travel to distant lands in hours when it would have taken monthsyears previously imagine if we believed it would be impossible and we never Tried Understand The Difference And Always Push Understand the difference and always push boundariesUltimately I very much enjoyed this book being myself someone who enjoys hiking in the mountains I was able to feel Kagge s clarity and deep understanding regarding many issues and his thoughts are always a breath of fresh air to someone living in the hustle and bustle of a major city Kagge has established himself as one of my favourite authors and I look forward to reading his other booksRecommended read As usual just a beautiful book from Kagge I love his writing the beauty and simplicity of it There s a lot packed into this and a lot ponder The pictures also stop you in your tracks and let you contemplate what you ve just read Do. Ano searching for the same things as Socrates did And what does a Swedish punk rock band have in common with the philosopher Spinoza It s about dreams ups and downs and motivation Mainly it s not only about bec.
